About Counseling Services

 Since 2015 Rachel has dedicated her professional career to specializing in trauma and stress treatment for military, veterans, and first responders. She has expertise in EMDR, equine-assisted therapies, and critical incident counseling. She also provides wellness visits, pre and post sabbatical check-ins, crisis intervention, debriefing support, and clinical guidance to local police and fire departments peer support teams. 

As a spouse of a first responder, Rachel has firsthand insight into the unique challenges these professions bring to families and is committed to comprehensive support for both individuals and their loved ones.

She holds a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Avila University, and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy with a specialization in Trauma and Disaster Relief at National University. Additionally, she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Benedictine College.

Rachel is licensed in Kansas and Missouri and is a National Certified Counselor. She has worked extensively in private practice and nonprofit organizations. She serves as lead clinician for the female cohort at the 5-day Revenant Journey retreat through The Battle Within and is their equine therapist. 

With certifications in EMDR, equine-assisted psychotherapy, and a special interest in researching and teaching on Moral Distress and Injury, Rachel continues to advance innovative approaches to trauma healing in public safety and military communities.

You will often see Rachel working alongside her K9 companion, Faith, a rescue who also has a heart for bringing comfort and smiles to those in pain.
